Heather McMahon Calhoun is a strategic planner and management professional with 20 years of experience developing creative programs and leading dynamic teams. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Heather holds a master’s degree in regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With a career spanning the fields of community development, public service, and grassroots organizing, Heather has remained committed to building resilient communities through collaboration, innovation, and participation. As senior project manager at Community Building Strategies, Heather works with in-house and contracted staff to coordinate teams and projects that advance opportunities for everyday people to build power and positively influence economic, social, and racial justice. A Midwest native, Heather is a recent transplant to Birmingham AL where she lives with her husband Geoff, their children Gabriel and Arya, and their beloved dog Fitz.
