The returning citizens project is a powerful collaboration research effort among academics, the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice and other affiliated community-based organizations, the Analyst Institute and affected individuals. Its goal is to discover ways of communicating with persons who have been re-enfranchised after incarceration such that they may see voting as a valuable part of their identities as returning citizens.
