Based on research conducted by MOVE and Topos, the program had four goals:

  1. Explore the struggles and priority issues that affect individuals and their families.
  2. Understand how individuals feel divided from or united with individuals of different racial identities.
  3. Leave individuals with a feeling of political empowerment that connects economic exploitation to political engagement and hope.
  4. Offer an invitation to show up or take action in some way that can grow the base and organizing potential of the participating organizations.

Analyst Institute partnered with MOVE to conduct experimental research designed to answer the following research question:

  • What is the impact of Transformative Conversations on civic and political attitudes?
